Pipe Bands Australia is pleased to announce the release of updated drumming syllabuses and examination resources through the Australian Pipe Band College (APBC), marking an important step forward in the development of drumming education across Australia.
The updated materials provide clearer learning pathways for drummers at all stages of their musical development, supporting the progression of technical ability, musical knowledge and practical performance skills.
Importantly, the revised framework also brings greater alignment between the College’s piping and drumming qualifications, promoting a more consistent approach to education, assessment and musical development across both disciplines.
The updated drumming syllabuses have been developed to provide students, instructors and examination candidates with clear guidance on the knowledge, competencies and practical skills expected at each level of certification.
While each discipline retains its own technical and musical requirements, the updated framework seeks to provide greater consistency in how students progress through their respective qualifications.
