Records of Pipe Bands organising themselves into a New South Wales association date back to 1958

The following bands formed the NSW pipe band association: Scots College Pipe Band, NSW Ladies Pipe Band, Cunningham Pipe Band, Cunningham Ladies Pipe Band, Wollongong and District, Sydney Thistle Band, North Sydney Band, NSW Police, Lakemba Pipe Band, Bankstown Band, St. George Band.
