Established in 1946, the Band is one of the longest active pipe bands in Tasmania.
The band comes under the leadership of Pipe Major Garry Fletcher and Drum Major Stewart Ims.
The Band is active in a number of community events throughout the year, including the Wooden Boat Festival,
Hobart Christmas Pageant, UTAS graduations and Dark Mofo, and also performs once a month at Salamanca
Markets. The Band is also available for private functions. The Band was awarded Tasmania Grade 4 Champions at the St Andrew Society Richmond Highland Gathering Pipe Bands Tasmania competitions in 2018 and 2019. We actively encourage new members and offer free
structured tuition for pipes and drums.
