The City of Adelaide Pipe Band was formed in 1991. The band has proved to be one of Australia’s most successful pipe bands, having won a long list of pipe band contests, including two Australian Pipe Band Championships.
The dedication to music at the highest level is the bands hallmark, with several of its members ranking amongst this country’s top solo competitors. Teaching is a priority for the band, through our highly successful programme for young musicians called the Gracenotes Academy of Piping and Drumming.
In 2006 and 2019, the City of Adelaide Pipe Band performed at the Festival Interceltique de Lorient in France – one of the world’s foremost festivals for Celtic arts. This is a great honour for the band, and a reflection of the quality of music the band aims to produce. The band regularly performs at civic functions, street parades and contests throughout Australia.
