Commencing studies in Piping at aged 10 under the tuteledge of Hall of Fame Inductee Gary Webb Joel has become an accomplished piper. Joel is a playing member and Pipe Sergeant of the Derwent Scottish Pipe Band in addition to his efforts tutoring pipes for the Tasmania Police Pipe Band.

Outside of Band life Joel is a serving member of the Tasmanian Branch of Pipe Bands Australia as well as being Vice Chairman of the ‘McGee Foundation’.

In his role as National Web Coordinator Joel has worked hard to continually upgrade and enhance the Pipe Bands Australia digital landscape by leveraging his qualifications in Marketing, graphic design and web design.
