Queensland Councillor National Council
Vice Chairman, Queensland Branch
Jamie learnt pipes at Scotch College in Western Australia in the early 1980s before moving to the Perth Highland Pipe Band, where he got his first taste of international competition at the Jakarta Highland Gathering.
After moving to Sydney, Jamie was Pipe Major of City of Blacktown Pipe Band No.2 (Grade 3) including successful international tours to Scotland, Indonesia and New Zealand. Since arriving in Queensland, work commitments have largely kept Jamie away from full-time playing, but in the intervening period he has still competed with Perth Highland in Singapore and with Governor Macquarie Memorial Pipe Band in Scotland in 2017.
Jamie has been a Vice Chairman of the Pipe Bands Queensland since 2016 and completed his Advanced Rules and Administration certificate in 2019 when he was also appointed Vice Principal.
