Australia Juvenile Championships

The Australian Juvenile Pipe Band Championships return in 2025 in harmony with the Austraian Solo Championships to be held at the Scots School Albury, New South Wales over three spectacular days.

Until 2022 Championship Juvenile events were included in the Australian Pipe Band Championships. In 2023 the inaugural Australian Juvenile Championships was held at the Scots PGC School in Warwick Queensland.

This event celebrates and centres around the efforts of young musicians throughout the Australian Pipe Band community and will be held in opposing Australian Championship years.

Objectives

The objectives of the Australian Juvenile Championships are to:

  • Give effect to the prevailing wishes of Australian Pipe Bands and their strong support for an event of its kind
  • Provide an Australian Juvenile Pipe Band Championship event, every second year in rotation with the Australian Pipe Band Championships noting that the Australian Pipe Band Championship will continue to offer both graded and juvenile elements.
  • Provide a concurrent open and juvenile solo championship in piping and drumming
  • Provide a showcase for Australia’s talented young musicians with musical offerings that fall outside the scope of traditional contest elements.
  • Provide an conducive environment supportive for juvenile pipe band members with minimal contest experience.
  • Allow the development of both solo and band performance in a friendly and collaborative context.
