Pipe Bands Australia congratulates the Australian bands and musicians who proudly competed at the World Pipe Band Championships.
Australia was represented by:
• Hawthorn Pipe Band (Victoria) — Grade 1
• The Pipe Band Club (New South Wales) — Grade 2
• Governor Macquarie Memorial Pipe Band (New South Wales) — Grades 3B and 4B
• Scotch College No. 2 (Victoria) — Novice Juvenile B
There was a fantastic set of results on the world stage:
• The Pipe Band Club placed 3rd overall in Grade 2, including 2nd in the Medley and 3rd in the MSR.
• Scotch College No. 2 placed 4th in the Novice Juvenile B final after winning its qualifying heat.
• Governor Macquarie Memorial Pipe Band placed 9th in the Grade 3B final.
• Hawthorn Pipe Band placed 11th overall in Grade 1, competing among the very best bands in the world.
We also acknowledge the many Australian pipers and drummers who competed as members of bands from around the world. While there are too many to name individually, your achievements and contributions have certainly not gone unnoticed.
Reaching the Worlds takes enormous dedication, countless hours of practice, and the support of families, friends and communities back home. Congratulations to every player, drummer, musical leader and supporter involved.
