Three recipients have been named for the 2020 Peter Cook Piping Scholarship awarded annually through a bequest from Peter’s estate and administered jointly by Pipe Bands Australia and the Victorian Highland Pipe Band Association.

This year’s recipients were selected from applicants across Australia. They are:

Abby Dalziel (Scots PGC Warwick) to assist with continued learning through tuition, workshops and performance. Awarded $500

Gaynor Spriggs (Tasmania Police) to assist with continued learning through tuition, workshops and performance. Awarded $500

Abbas Manchadi (Emmanuel College Highlanders) to assist with solo performance development and continued learning. Awarded $300

Peter Cook was long-time secretary of Pipe Bands Victoria and VHPBA until his tragic death in a road accident. PBA and VHPBA appreciates the generous bequest through the cook family.
