{"id":1965,"date":"2026-10-18T21:09:19","date_gmt":"2026-10-18T11:09:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pipebandsaustralia.com.au\/queensland\/pipe-bands-australia-announces-new-national-leadership\/"},"modified":"2026-11-03T21:11:28","modified_gmt":"2026-11-03T11:11:28","slug":"pipe-bands-australia-announces-new-national-leadership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pipebandsaustralia.com.au\/queensland\/pipe-bands-australia-announces-new-national-leadership\/","title":{"rendered":"Pipe Bands Australia Announces New National Leadership"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pipe Bands Australia wishes to announce the election of its new national leadership following the Association&#8217;s Annual General Meeting, held on Sunday, 18 October 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">David Doyle has been elected National President of Pipe Bands Australia, commencing a new chapter for the national organisation representing pipers, drummers and pipe bands across Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The election marks an opportunity for the Association to build on its traditions while strengthening its commitment to supporting members, developing musicians and fostering a vibrant and sustainable pipe band community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Election Results<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The following officeholders were confirmed following the Annual General Meeting:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>National Management Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>National President:<\/strong> David Doyle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>National Secretary:<\/strong> Joel Solak<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>National Treasurer:<\/strong> Tim Bodey<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>College Representative:<\/strong> Scott Nicolson, Principal of Piping<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>General Committee:<\/strong> Alisdair McLaren<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Ex-officio positions will be advised in coming days<\/em> <em>following a meeting of the National Management Committee.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Australian Pipe Band College<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Principal of Piping:<\/strong> Scott Nicolson<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Principal of Drumming:<\/strong> Andrew Womersley<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Principal of Ensemble:<\/strong> Harold Gillespie<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Principal of Drill &amp; Dress:<\/strong> Tony Coen <em>OAM<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Principal of Rules &amp; Administration:<\/strong> Jamie Robinson<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recognising service and contribution<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pipe Bands Australia acknowledges the contribution of outgoing officeholders and thanks them for their commitment and service to the Association and the Australian pipe band movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ainsley Hart, outgoing National President 2020 to 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Phil Weber, outgoing National Secretary 2020 to 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Michelle Haysom, outgoing National Treasurer, former 2020 to 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dean Hall, outgoing Principal of Drumming, 2017 to 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rob Bennett, outgoing Principal of Ensemble 2019 to 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Peter Felton, outgoing Principal of Rules &amp; Administration 2025 to 2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the coming days, the Association will provide further information about the priorities of the incoming leadership and opportunities for members and branches to contribute to its future direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Members are encouraged to remain engaged with Pipe Bands Australia through its website, official communications and state branches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An inaugural President&#8217;s address will be made available on the Pipe Bands Australia website in due course.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pipe Bands Australia wishes to announce the election of its new national leadership following the Association&#8217;s Annual General Meeting, held on Sunday, 18 October 2026.
