About.
The band was originally formed in 1977 as the Windsor & District Scottish Pipe Band by Jock, Dave and Al Sinclair. In 1985 the band was being run by Bob McLellan and the band had changed its name to the Hawkesbury City Pipe Band. At the end of 2008 Barry Gray had become the bands tutor and another name change occurred to the Hawkesbury Nepean Valley Pipe Band. This band competed in Scotland in 2010 (with the Novice Juvenile band gaining a 6th at the European Championships and a 10th in the World Championships. The band returned to Scotland in 2012. In 2014 it won the 4A Australian and South Pacific Championships. Competed in Singapore in 2015 in G3 and gained a creditable 2nd place. At the Australian Championships in 2016 it won the Grade 3 Drumming award. In 2017 the band returned to Scotland and played in Grade 3A. The band has performed in more mainstream events on stage with Sir Paul McCartney and John Farnham. It will be returning to Scotland in 2026. Currently at the helm of the #1 band is Barry Gray and Mark Romer. The #2 band is lead by Iain McLennan and Lachlan Watts who is also the bands Drum Major
